Basically you need to understand who is doing television and who are the best companies to buy. You need to understand the resolution, in particular what is called high definition. The difference between plasma and LCD technology is important. Finally, to really get to terms with what you can use the TV for you to help you choose the right one.

Let's go over each of these in turn.

Manufacturer

There areSome major manufacturers of high-definition TV, but the four most recent Sony, Samsung, Toshiba and Panasonic. I would like to be able to tell you that it is much better than the other three, but this is not the case. Samsung seems to have a wider selection, but the other three manufacturers are spoiled for choice, too!

Resolution

Right now TV is in three resolutions, 480, 720, and 1080 come from. Now there's a little 'more than the resolution of clarity, such as TVactually creates the image, but you must understand at least these three numbers and their meanings.

The numbers refer to the number of lines of HD-TV scans the screen in one pass. The higher the number the higher the resolution. Only 720 and 1080 are considered "high definition." 480 will be good on a smaller group, but not more than Hi-Def effect!

LCD vs. Plasma

Between these two, there is no real winner. LCD TVs are lighter and therefore easiermounted on the wall. Their screens reflect less light than plasma screens. They also consume less energy.

On the other hand, some people think that the plasma images have deeper colors - see more movies! Part of the problem is that plasma TVs are heavy. They are more difficult to mount on the wall. Larger TV requires additional reinforcement, if you want to assemble them. You can also burn more easy to get on the screen.
