If you're anything like me you like to keep your electronics in good shape, finding and working like they are brand new. So now that you have a shiny new Kindle or Kindle Touch you are going to need some way to keep it safe but also easily accessible. There are a few good options out there so lets jump right in and find out what are the best Kindle Touch lighted covers and how they stack up against each other.
First I'll spill the beans on the three brands of Kindle Touch Lighted Covers I feel are the best. I have put them in the order I rank them and will explicate why following this list.
- Amazon's own brand
- M-Edge
- Marware
Kindle Touch Cover
The first thing that comes to my mind when finding for a way to safe any electronic device is "will it make using my device clumsy, offensive or in some way uncomfortable?" As an example think the hundreds of separate ways to safe a smartphone. Some are sleek and elegant while others are like body armor but about as intriguing as a cardboard box. Appearance is super foremost in keeping your new device every bit as magical and eye-pleasing as the designers intended it to be.
Of the three most favorite brands of covers for the Kindle Touch, I personally feel that the Amazon brand is the best. In the past, it wasn't so but now the game has changed. The latest line of covers is form-fitting, so your Kindle Touch is shrouded in a lightweight and ergonomically pleasing cover that blends with the Kindle, instead of being a clunky increasing to it.
The other brands, M-Edge and Marware, do contribute good protection, but the touch and feel of these covers cannot assess with the latest cover from Amazon. The one safety factor that sets the Amazon cover apart is that it surrounds the Kindle in a perfect-fit embrace that allows you to forget it's inside a cover and just enjoy your books. After a year of using an M-Edge cover I still do like it, but at times get tired of its cumbersome feel while reading.
All three brands do offer good safety but again the Amazon cover comes out on top. As already mentioned, it surrounds the Kindle so any bump on any side is buffered. The M-Edge also offers all-around protection, but it is less sturdy on the edges. Finally, the Marware cover offers no safety on the edges so I wouldn't want that one.
Now of procedure the key to reading any book is being able to see it! The Amazon brand wins this race, too. The latest Kindle Touch cover found with built in light far surpasses all of the competition, together with the old Amazon covers. The light is no longer as concealed when not in use, but it is so much more useful when you are using it. Rather than being up and away off in the projection of the Kindle, the Kindle Touch lighted cover has brilliantly positioned the light on a pivoting arm directly in the top and center of the page. This makes for a much more even light across the Kindle. It is also within the boundaries of the cover so that you can lie on your side on a couch or in bed and still easily use the light.
M-Edge also offers a light for their covers but it isn't built-in and adds quite a lot of bulk to the experience. To store the M-Edge light you have to remove it from the cover, fold it up and stuff it in a pocket on the cover. What a pain! The Amazon covers light just folds away with one simple touch, and it even closes automatically if you close the cover. Marware does not offer a lighted cover.
